Early sights and sounds

Hola!

Our team made it safely into Mexico City on Sunday, albeit via a very long line through customs [probably about an hour so]. We made it to our hotel around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, and it was nice to finally check in, even if it was only a 4.5 hour flight.

The Sheraton is nice and we are actually working and staying in somewhat of a suburb of Mexico City called Sante Fe. It is the new financial district and actually a very nice area. We tested that theory by walking to dinner last night, and we had no problems.

Speaking of dinner, we also inadvertantly ordered $14 martinis the entire night. Oh well, we made it work, the dinner budget was just a little tighter than expected. We ate at a place called Shu that was a Japanese place with a French infusion. I am not really sure about the French infusion, but it was delish. Everyone in their life needs to eat teppanyaki. We also threw in some sushi for appetizers that was fantastic.

That's all for now...back to Day 2. Work is going to be crazy as this Monsanto site has been in a little bit of trouble lately. A few weeks of 8-8 aren't too bad; going to Cancun this weekend to see the Chichen Itza on Saturday and the beach on Sunday. Next weekend we are staying in Mexico City to celebrate the Day of the Dead and see the pyramids.

Matt

I like the new title. I hope you have fun in Cancun. Too bad it's not spring break.
