I Hate Sleeping, or Really Sleeping Hates Me

So, some of you know that I sleep pretty crappy. I rarely, rarely can sleep through an entire night without waking up. In fact, waking up twice is generally considered a victory.

Well, it's 3:40 a.m. in the Czecho and I am wide awake. When I went to India, the first few days, I took my sleeping pills, then got adjusted right away. I just made sure I stayed up pretty late the first night to get adjusted.
This time, in the Czech, I did the same thing, except the last few nites, I have been waking up 8-9 times and forcing myself to stay in bed. Tonight...wide awake at 3:00 a.m. I laid in bed for half an hour, but nothin'. So, I am going to go back to bed in probably an hour or so, but this stinks. I need to go be a part of the sleep study or something.

Also, say a prayer for Brazil. The airport that the crash took place at [Congonhas] in Sao Paulo is one that our team has flied in and out of frequently as part of weekend trips. We visit Brazil every year in March, as this is one of our biggest world sites [along with India, Argentina, Belgium, & France, which we are required to visit annually]. Maybe TAM Airlines shouldn't have forced a court injunction to fly on that runway, when a court had ruled flights were too dangerous to come in and out of that runway for being too short. Or, maybe they should have waited the six months for the grooves in the pavement to be installed. Or, maybe they should have taken a clue when the crash over the Amazon took place six months ago. At any rate, the Air Industry needs to get cleaned up in Brazil, and in a hurry, before I fly there in 9 months. Kind of scary when it becomes personal, and unfortunately it took the death of 198 people to get me fired up about it.

It seems it takes a series of errors to result in a serious crash. I just read one on the reverse thrusters was not working.

I am reminded how lucky the crash in Tronto was a few years ago when the plane went off the end of the runway into a ravin and burned. Everyone got out.

Nice family blog. Prague i understand is one of the great cities to visit.
